What Is ArMOM
Sharing the gift of dental care with those in need.
Could you imagine sleeping on the sidewalk just to have a dental appointment? That is what many Arkansans do in order to receive the care that they desperately need. Luckily because of ArMOM this care is free. The services are donated from dentists and volunteers across the state and funded by sponsors.
The 2009 ArMOM is scheduled to take place May 8-9, at the Holiday Inn & Northwest Arkansas Convention Center 1500 South 48 Street. in Springdale Arkansas. The founding organization, Arkansas State Dental Association, is seeking volunteers and sponsors, both in-kind and cash donations.
In 2008, in central Arkansas, 790 volunteers showed up to help the cause. Dentists, dental assistants and dental hygienists are needed to perform the dental work; nurses and pharmacists are needed to assist those treated. There is also a need for support staff— individuals who are eager to work. It is not required to have a background in dentistry to fill these roles. Sponsors are needed, and ready appreciated. Donations of dental supplies, food for volunteers and patients, and administrative supplies are all needed.
